SFC Bowen ~ Documentary Video
Today we are going to explain how we created our SFC Bowen documentary. First, we decided on who we wanted to create a documentary about. We quickly decided to create the documentary about SFC Bowen.
To begin we created a list of questions to ask students and faculty of our school as well as SFC Bowen. Then we interviewed SFC Bowen, but sadly we didn’t press the record button. Next we started to interview some of the students in DLC (Dragon Leadership Corps), that’s when we noticed we didn’t get SFC Bowen on film. Then, we started interviewing some of the staff at our school, and that went pretty smoothly. After we tried watching all the videos, we found out some people weren't loud enough. So then we recorded them again.
We interviewed SFC Bowen a few days after we realized he wasn't on film. After we finished filming, we imported our video into iMovie and started to edit. We thought we were finished, but decided to interview more teachers and staff. Then we started to edit again. This was a long, long, long process! Once we thought we were finished, we reviewed it with the rubric. We thought it was good, but decided we should add background music since we thought it would enhance the final piece. We decided to use Garageband for our music.
Once we figured out how to use GarageBand, we decided what kind of beat we wanted. We dragged other clips of music and we got a really sick beat. Then we added it to our video. After that we watched our video, we found out we needed to adjust the volume when people were talking. We turned up the speaker’s audio, and turned down the background music. We all finally agreed we were done!
The last thing we did was show SFC Bowen, we hope he enjoyed it! His whole class watch it with him! We were kind of shocked when everyone said they loved it.
SFC Bowen has a very big impact on Henry F. Moss Middle school! We are very thankful to have him here with us, leading and guiding us on the path to our futures!
